While OpenAI is toiling away trying to create an ‘iPhone’ moment in AI with the launch of its large language model-based ChatGPT and its plugins, Apple – the OG pioneer of iPhone – is curiously silent, making little or no noise whatsoever in LLMs and generative AI.

Nvidia’s Huizi Mao said that Apple should be another big-tech company to worry about LLMs, after Google. He said that though LLMs may not be the path to strong AI, it has been proven to be a very powerful human-computer interface. “A brand new OS/ecosystem could spawn on it, just like when the touchscreen was first presented on iPhone,” he added.
