Google, once a leader in unleashing the latest innovation in tech, is struggling to make a dent in the generative AI landscape. The giant is slowly slipping its position with many of its talents exiting the firm and rivals unleashing exciting new AI products and services – the likes of GPT-4 Turbo by OpenAI and Meta’s generative AI ad features.
It’s not that the tech giant is not trying. Recently, Google rolled out a bunch of generative AI features to enhance its search experience for the world and advertisers. In FY23 Q3, the company recorded a whopping $59.65 revenue from the advertising business and Search out of the $76.69 billion in total revenue.
