Meta AI chief Yann LeCun has a curious personality. He likes to swim against the tide and not be part of the ‘trend’. While the two tech giants Google and Microsoft are busy vying with each other to build better LLM-based chatbots, LeCun has shunned the model completely. 

The failure of Galactica, a large language model for science, seems to have left the AI genius disillusioned. “LLMs like Galactica or even the GPT 3.5-based ChatGPT could be used as writing aids but couldn’t be expected to reason or react like a human.”
