As if the hype around Cursor AI wasn’t enough, Andrej Karpathy has added to it by announcing that he would choose it instead of GitHub Copilot from now on.

A year ago, it was Karpathy who called English the hottest programming language. Now, for Cursor, he says, the future is ‘tab tab tab’ and that “the tool is now a complex living thing”. His support for Cursor made some question if he worked with or supported the team at Anysphere, the creators of Cursor, in some manner.
