Two years ago, tech billionaire Elon Musk on Saturday Night Live (SNL) revealed that he has Asperger’s syndrome. He also claimed that he is the first person with this syndrome to host SNL.
It’s quite tough for autistic individuals to function normally in the real world, and even get jobs. The condition can create barriers, ranging from difficulties in social communication to repetitive behaviours, sensory sensitivities, etc. Research shows that as of 2021, over 75 million people were estimated to be autistic. Out of which, more than 80% are unemployed. Why is that?Â
