In March this year, NVIDIA sensed what's coming and announced the launch of the AI Foundation, a cloud-based generative AI service that you can fine-tune for your business, and use for medical research or generating AI artwork. The development was an indication of NVIDIA’s realisation that diversification of business is key to maintaining its monopoly in the GPU market.
Continuing with the new policy, the chipmaker partnered with the cloud computing and virtualisation company, VMware, last week.
The partnership aims to empower businesses to personalise models and deploy generative AI applications, such as intelligent chatbots, virtual assistants, search capabilities, and summarization tools. This comprehensive platform will seamlessly combine generative AI software with high-speed computing resources from NVIDIA, leveraging the foundation of VMware Cloud and fine-tuning it for optimal AI performance.
