In the recent episode of 'Unconfuse Me with Bill Gates’, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman shared the age dynamics of the company, asserting that it is not run by “a bunch of 24-year-old programmers”.
Altman revealed that unlike the early days of Apple and Microsoft – which was started by a bunch of teenagers – OpenAI's team isn't dominated by youthful programmers, but boasts a diverse age range including many in their 30s, 40s, and 50s.
Further, observing a general trend of older folks in tech, Altman expressed his concern. “I think it’s somehow a bad sign for society, but I tracked this down at YC. The best founders have trended older over time,” he added.
