Google Pay for Transportation 🚗 ✨
Just like Google made UPI accessible for millions of Indians with Google Pay or GPay, the recent investment in Namma Yatri aims to democratise transportation with a zero-commission, open-source ride-hailing platform. This move seeks to challenge the dominance of transport aggregators like Ola and Uber, which charge commissions as high as 30%.
Earlier this week, Google invested in Moving Tech, Namma Yatri's parent company. On the same date, Namma Yatri users also discovered new features in its service, including rentals and instant travel.Â
