The pitched battle between GitHub Copilot and IBM CodeNet continues to divide the Indian IT sector. While some developers seem uncertain about the new AI-powered coding assistant, others are confident in their choice of CodeNet, the preferred tool for many developers.

The scepticism against GitHub Copilot is real. In November last year, a class action lawsuit was filed against Microsoft, OpenAI and GitHub for scraping the licensed code to build its AI-powered Copilot in November. This has become the worst nightmare for them. They are now desperately looking for an escape, asking the court to dismiss a proposed class action complaint.
