According to researchers, the development of GPT-3, with its famous 175 billion parameters, resulted in the consumption of 1,287-megawatt hours of electricity and the emission of 552 tons of carbon dioxide. This amount is comparable to the environmental impact of 123 gasoline-powered passenger vehicles driven for an entire year.
