Claude 3 sets the stage on fire, turning the cloud space into a dance battle of sorts. While Microsoft initially made Google dance, now Google and Amazon are making Microsoft sweat it out by integrating Anthropic's Claude 3 into their AI service offerings, namely Vertex AI and Amazon Bedrock. This development increases the pressure on OpenAI to release GPT-5, putting Microsoft Azure in a quandary.
OpenAI is all about priorities. However, it seems distracted at the moment with Elon Musk suing the company, accusing it of deviating from its original mission and becoming a de facto subsidiary of Microsoft.
The strongest model, Anthropic’s Claude 3 Opus, outperformed GPT-4 on common benchmarks like MMLU and HumanEval. Also, Claude 3 Sonnet, meant specifically for enterprise workloads, is now available on Amazon Bedrock and in private preview on Google Cloud’s Vertex AI Model Garden—with Opus and Haiku coming soon to both.
