Amazon’s Nova Arrives, Late to the Party?

At the AWS re:Invent 2024, Amazon unveiled Nova, a suite of AI models designed to generate text, images, and videos. These models, available through Amazon Bedrock, aim to provide businesses with cost-effective, low-latency solutions for various AI tasks, directly challenging established players like OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Meta and Microsoft in the frontier model space, alongside its favourite Anthropic, whom it works very closely with.

“They’re really cost-effective. They’re about 75% less expensive than the other leading models in Bedrock,” said Amazon chief Andy Jassy.
