If the AI world had a party, this week would be the ultimate jam – the guest list filled with the likes of Alpaca, MedPaLM 2, GPT-4, Claude, PaLM API, MakerSuite, and many more! The AI party has only begun, and the excitement is sure to build from here on. Here’s a quick glimpse of – ‘AI Week That Was’.
Monday: Stanford introduced Alpaca 7B, a model fine-tuned from the LLaMA 7B model on 52K instruction-following demonstrations. On their preliminary evaluation of single-turn instruction following, this new model behaved qualitatively similar to OpenAI’s text-to-davinci-003, while being surprisingly small and easy to reproduce.
