The quarterly results of tech companies are in. While bigshots like Alphabet, Amazon, Apple and Microsoft kept the markets buoyant, Meta lost USD 230 billion in value in one day.

Stealing the show from most big tech companies, Alphabet Inc, for the last quarter of 2021, reported $257.6 billion in revenue, stacking the growth of 41% YoY.

Meanwhile, Amazon finally revealed the full extent of its advertising revenue. The e-commerce giant’s ad business (used to be included in the ‘Other’ category) reeled in USD 9.7 billion in the fourth quarter and USD 31 billion in the full year. OpenAI now tackles high school Math Olympiad problems

OpenAI has come out with a neural theorem prover for Lean that can solve a range of difficult high-school olympiad problems. Some of these problems are from AMC12 and AIME competitions, with two being adapted from the International Math Olympiad (IMO).

OpenAI said that the prover “uses a language model to find proofs of formal statements.” Every time it finds new proof, it is used as new training data. This improves the neural network and helps to find solutions to harder statements.

Copilot vs AlphaCode

Deepmind’s latest artificial intelligence-based code development and analysis tool boasts of reducing such costs by automating the routine and time-consuming tasks of the developers.

In contrast with GitHub Copilot, which suggests code, AlphaCode is capable of analysing the algorithm and generating complex programmes at a competitive level that is not only devoid of error but also corresponding to its description.
